Project Description
It appears that on the site of the existing fortified church there used to be another fortified Romanesque church, traces of which were found under the sacristy’s floor. A Gothic church dedicated to St. Peter started being built in the 14th century. The church was fortified in the beginning of the 16th century.
In the vicinity of the church there is a chapel dedicated to St. Cyriacus, attested in 1446. The church is surrounded by a single oval enclosure, which can be entered through an arched alleyway located in the west side, which could be closed with a harrow. Three bastions remain today. The walls are 6-7-m high and are fitted with battlements and crenellations.
