Architectural models are greatly used both by architects to present their vision and ideas, as well as by investors to attract customers for the developed projects. Their construction is carried out by experts in specialized workshops, but when they are finished, the moment comes when it is necessary to transport the architectural model to its destination.

These details will have to be known from the beginning, even before starting the actual construction of the model, so that the way of packaging and transportation are taken into account in order to ensure a safe and guaranteed delivery.

How to pack and transport an architectural model

One of the greatest satisfactions of professionals in the field is to offer customers exactly what they want. In this sense, it will be necessary to do a proper packaging, so that the transport can take place in the safest conditions.

Once the size of the model is known, a decision can be made on how it will be packaged and the process will have several levels. If the architectural model has a considerable size, the decision can be made to divide it into several sections to make the handling easier, with only the need to do a quick assembly at the location.

Most of the time, a box is built from plywood, in order to withstand accidental blows from the outside without any problems. At the same time, the inner part will be lined with foam, so as to mitigate the kinetic energy caused by possible accidents during transport, but also to avoid movement inside the box.

The corners are the areas most prone to damage, but due to the foam protection, they will be safe, and the transport to the destination will be completed without problems.

Before closing the lid of the box (it is also lined with foam), a plexiglass sheet will be used for additional protection, thus allowing the model to be visualized, without being exposed to risky elements from the outside.

Last but not least, locks will be used to seal the box and keep it closed during the transportation. For increased comfort and depending on the size or weight of the model, wheels and a handle will be added for easier handling.

Architectural models are essential tools used by architects and investors to promote their projects. But due to the fact that they are light and fragile structures, it will be important that they are packed and transported properly to avoid accidents.

Specialists in the field use resistant and highest quality materials in the construction of the packaging, being able to guarantee complete safety until the moment it arrives safely at its destination.
